Buddha me Banana

The first ever mention of bananas was in Buddhist texts that date back to 600 BC. Perhaps all that meditating built up an appetite, but in any case eating bananas these ancient cultures knew they were revitalising the body with vitamins B6 and C and minerals like potassium, giving them extra energy for some strenuous sitting. The ‘Barely Water’ of the ancient times, easy-to-digest bananas are great after exercising or after eating a touch too much!

6ft, 7ft, 8ft, Bunch!

Soft, sweet and highly nutritious, bananas were originally ‘domesticated’ in South East Asia, where they remain a very important part of the everyday culture. (In Chinese culture, the word banana is a slang term for Chinese persons who act like Caucasian people.)

They are now ranked fourth in the world for human consumption (after rice, wheat and maize).

Cures what ails ya’

Banana’s have antacid and mild anti-bacterial properties. They are purported to be good for reducing blood pressure as well as adding valuable nutrients such as folic acid, iron and lots of carbohydrates to your diet!
